Our Story

Lorenzo’s journey began with a boy and a big heart for stray dogs. Growing up in the inner city, six-year-old Lorenzo would sneak hungry, stray pups into his bedroom—training them to stay quiet so they wouldn’t get caught. What started as a secret mission of compassion turned into a lifelong calling.

By age ten, Lorenzo was training with professionals. He paid his way through college offering in-home dog training, developing a unique method shaped by decades of hands-on experience and a deep understanding of both dogs and people. In 1987, he founded Lorenzo’s Dog Training Team, and since then, he’s trained thousands of dogs—and dog trainers—across the country.

His mission? Simple but powerful:
Keep dogs out of shelters and in happy homes.
