Our dog Zoe was out of control. She had repeatedly attacked other dogs in our home and we were distraught at the thought of losing our beloved pet. While stitching up one of her attacked pack mates the vet recommended Lorenzo’s Dog Training Team.

Like a white knight, Emilio, a Lorenzo’s Dog Training Team Trainer, responded to our plea for help immediately and from the moment he rode up in his white truck, Zoe’s reign of terror ended.

Emilio helped us gain control and taught us to lead effectively. After only 15 minutes a calm settled over our home and we spent the rest of the lesson learning how to maintain it until the following lesson. In the following lessons we practiced, improved, and tested our skills in different interactions and venues, until we were confident in all situations. Now we are the leaders of a happy, calm, obedient and peaceful pack of four dogs.

A million thanks to Emilio and Lorenzo for their effective method of dog training!!!!!!

We hired Anton solely based off the fact that our new addition (Tatum) was highly aggressive and dominant toward Jango, my first dog. Tatum was adopted through Mayday Pitbull Rescue who in turn recommended Lorenzo's Dog Training Team. I thought that even if Tatum was unsettled in her new home, that I could handle her. I was wrong. From the beginning I enjoyed our sessions with Anton. We began with on leash and we have progressed to almost full off leash training. It has been a tremendous help not only in calming Tatum down, but in making her and Jango pals, but in everyday life having it much easier to control two large dogs with simple commands, hand signals, and a little bit of work. It's been a real pleasure and a valuable lesson for future dog ownership.

We greatly value the dog training services of Lorenzo's Dog Training Team. We have a high energy Australian Shepard, Amigo, a very sweet dog, but one with strong protective behaviors. We have had three previous trainers work with us to curb these behaviors with limited success. Amigo still barked and ran to the door whenever someone came to our driveway. He would run at strangers and bark and threaten them even though we had called him to stop.

Recently he bit a family member and we contacted our vet to have him put down. The Vet suggested that we try Lorenzo's Dog Training Team first. Lorenzo was in town and came with our local trainer, Anton, and did an evaluation. The outcome was positive. Anton took Amigo for five days and did the initial training. He brought Amigo back and started training us using Lorenzo's methods. Much change was obvious immediately. We learned and Amigo learned and now we have a pet that we feel can be around others. The most important thing we learned were the techniques we needed to stop Amigo's most undesirable behaviors. Anton and Lorenzo saved our dog's life and gave us a pet that we can enjoy and manage in the future.

We went from being fearful when taking our dog out in public to being confident and in control of our environment. My dogs are also more relaxed now that my husband and myself have assumed stronger leadership roles.

It's an intense program, no doubt, but if you commit to the process and do the work assignments given with your pets, you get results. The more skilled you and your dog become, the more fun and rewarding the training is for everyone involved.

I decided it was time to get a real dog. So I have invested wisely in a cane corso male puppy. I got my dog Mason at 8 weeks old. I knew what I was getting into getting a large breed dog so I also invested wisely in a professional trainer. I chose Lorenzo's Dog Training program. My personal trainer, Emilio, and I went through the on-leash and off leash training programs. I am very pleased with the results. I have the tools and knowledge now to continue his training. The training has built a strong bond between me and my dog. I am looking forward to more advanced training with Lorenzo's Team. Everywhere I go my dog is the best behaved and mannered dog, it's satisfying. I would recommend Lorenzo's to anyone with a dog. A trained dog is the only way.

I’m writing to recommend my trainer, Emilio Marotta ... I found him through the Aztec Doberman Pinscher Club in San Diego. For the past 7 weeks, he has been helping me with Piper. My last Dobie, Charlotte, was a sweet and easygoing girl, and Piper is definitely more energetic and challenging. I needed someone who understood the breed and it turns out I was the one who needed the most training! I did try a puppy class at a local facility, and while I did like them, I needed more personal attention. She was so distracted and unfocused there, and now she is a completely different dog when I take her out in public.

One of the other things he has helped me with is getting closer to my goal in training Piper as a therapy dog. I thought that she was way too high in energy, but he has helped me understand how to lead her properly and much about dog behavior as well.

I usually don’t go out of my way to write letters like this, but I’ve been truly happy with how he has helped me. I think that if dog owners knew how to properly train their dogs, there would be fewer dogs given up to shelters and the pound because they are unmanageable or aggressive.

    Warmest regards,

Tina and I moved into a house as roomates with an eight year old shepherd/Rottie mix Nate and seven year old Rotti/Pitt mix Ammo (large dogs). The first few weeks were okay then one day they aggresively started fighting. This came to follow three more times which resulted in Tina being bitten by both Nate and Ammo trying to break them up. I felt very panicked and that Nate and I would have to immediately move out because we couldn't risk our dogs potentially killing one another or biting someone. We felt hopeless until Tina proactively searched out Lorenzo's Dog training, a trainer that ABC vet reccomned. Tina literaly left a desperate , "Please help us!" message. That very night Emilio Marotta called and came to the house to asses our situation. The boys showed the behavior we where experiencing and then the intervention started with setting up training that very next day. After we completed training with the guidance of Emilio our dogs and ourselves are that much happier. We have confidently learned how to control our dogs and avoid mistakes we did as owners. The real transformation started with us and that transfered to our dogs. We are so grateful to have control over our dogs again and they are so much happier! Through our training, we were able to keep every one from being hurt and avoided big time vet bills to keep our dogs pached up from fighting . Best of all, we were able to remain roomates and live all in harmony with our pets. Happy ending .

When I first contacted Anton I didn’t have much hope that he would be able to help me with my dog’s aggression issues. I had worked with another trainer previously who had given up after a few sessions and said he couldn’t help me. However, the very first time he came over Anton was able to get my dog from a state of “attack” to one of respect . He suggested training with boarding in which he actually took my dog home with him for daily training….which I was surprised that he was willing to do given the manner in which he had been greeted. With each subsequent session I was impressed with how well my dog listened to Anton both on and off his leash. Anton was able to show me all of the subtle and not-so-subtle ways that I was letting my dog dominate me and my house and how to properly correct his undesirable behavior. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for dog training on any level.

Lorenzo's Dog Training Team has helped our 5 pound Morkie, Kodi, with her behavior immensely. In the past she would refuse to walk on a leash and was incredibly needy she was driving us crazy. Now Kodi walks nicely with us, and enjoys playing by herself a lot more.

I have nothing but the highest praise for Anton Yablonsky. I hired Anton to train my puggle puppy Hank. We started when Hank was 5 months old and continued training for about 12-14 weeks. What an amazing transformation. Before working with Anton, Hank had some major issues: biting (beyond puppy biting), aggression, pulling the leash, and not listening to ANY commands whatsoever. After just one session, Hank was sitting at the front door when it was open (instead of dashing out), healing and showing respect for authority. He continued to evolve and learn with each session and has become a reliable, well-behaved dog.

I highly recommend Anton for ANY dog training, he’s clearly a master.

JD was our trainer. I did not know what to expect . JD was very personable. We purchased he basic package of lessons. Sit, down, stay down, heel, come and spot. He explained to our family that dogs are pack animals and you have to show the dog who is he leader. Don't treat the dog like a person, treat the dog like a dog. The dog has to respect you, in order to listen to you. It is required the whole family do the training. This way everyone is on the same page. They recommend bedience classes are the very best when you adopt a dog within the first week of arrival into your home. This way the dog establishes the rules from the beginning. The dog must learn your rules and what to expect. I think all too often dogs are abandoned because no one teaches the dog right from wrong and like a kid, they thrive on a schedule too. I learned repetition and consistency is key when training a dog.

Nathan Lochner, I want to thank you for all your help with my three Havanese. They all have such good manners when someone comes to the door now. No jumping, they "sit/stay" and stop barking after the doorbell rings when I say "quiet". I cannot believe the difference! My friends are all so impressed. You probably remember that I called because the dogs were fine until about 2 years old and then I couldn't take them to ballgames and walks without Charlie and Lucy barking and Charlie lunging at other dogs. They are model citizens now. They "heel" and sit by my side when I am watching a game. When a dog goes by there are no big fusses anymore. Thanks to you, we are all enjoying our time together, inside our home and outside in public! They now get to go to more places together, now that I can trust them. It is good to be the pack leader. Thanks again for all your help, we absolutely couldn't have done it without you!

Although I have been a dog owner all my life, the idea of needing any dog training had just never occurred to me. That was until I fell in love with the American Eskimo Dog, an extremely loyal and beautiful breed that are also known to be protective watch dogs, bark a lot and even periodically bite. That is why, for years, I kept my one compliant male and my overly dominant female cloistered in my home where they would only encounter friends and family - avidly avoiding other people, children, and especially other dogs whenever possible.

One day I got this great idea to rescue another American Eskimo, a younger smaller male, only to have my somewhat peaceful home turned upside down. That's when I sought out HELP, I was referred to Nathan Lochner at LORENZO'S DOG TRAINING TEAM! Nathan Lochner met me and my dog family right away and was able to assess that my female was very dominant, dog aggressive, and had territorial aggression. He then provided me with a training program. and after two sessions we further discovered that my little 20 lbs female had the dominance level and pain tolerance of a pit bull terrier.

I must admit my heart sunk, thinking that I would not be able to keep the little rescue dog, fearing that my female would never stop trying to hurt him. So, imagine my surprise when, by the END OF SESSION #6, I was able to have both my extremely dominate female and my absolutely terrified rescue male laying side-by-side on the couch without any bloodshed!

Since our last session, I am happy to report that as I continue to practice all the training skills that I learned from Lorenzo’s Dog Training Team, my anxiety has gone away, my level of control over my pack has increased, and the two of them continue to co-exist a little better with each passing day.

Lorenzo’s Dog Training Team taught me how to work with my dog in a way that dogs respond to naturally, appealing to their innate relationship to dominance and the pack hierarchy.

Lorenzo’s Dog Training Team has been an invaluable investment, helping me to better understand how to bridge the human-to-canine communication gap - in way that got me SERIOUS RESULTS!

Thanks to Nathan Lochner and Lorenzo’s Dog Training Team, I love the relationship I have with my dogs - now that I have established myself as the Leader in the pack and they get it!

IF YOU ARE, OR PLAN TO BE, A DOG PARENT - LEARNING THE LORENZO'S DOG TRAINING TEAM BASIC TRAINING SKILLS IS A MUST! Don’t make the same mistake I did and wait until you have a real problem on your hands and in your home! Thanks again Nathan for your great training!

When I got my 4 month old Rottie he was chewing my baseboards and driving me up the wall. On walks he had to smell and eat everything we came across. My vet recommended we have an assessment by Lorenzo's (it's where she trained her dogs).
Nathan Lochner came to our house and listened to us bumble on about how we were trying to train our "Monster." Then he put a training collar and leash on "Monster" and just walked around the couch a few times. Then he told our dog to sit, then lay down and stay. AND HE DID!!! We were blown away!!
After completing the Basic Training we decided to do the off leash training. And now we have a dog that our whole neighborhood knows as "The Good Dog." "Monster' is only a monster because he is huge, not because of his behavior. I have people asking me all the time if I am a trainer because my dog is so well behaved. I just smile and say, "No, but I know a great one!!"

Great experience. I had taken my german Shepard to another so called reputable trainer, and after a month of boarding I didn't see that my dog had been taught anything. But, thanks to my vet referring Nathan my boy is doing great. Thanks again Lorenzo's!

I have been training with Lorenzo's Dog Training for a few months now with great results! *Our puppy, Reno, started with Nathan at about 10 weeks with the typical puppy issues (distraction, biting, chewing, not listening in general) and is now so well trained. Reno, now 6 months, *is such a pleasure to be around and we love taking him with us wherever we go because we know we don't have to worry about him getting out of control.

You have to be patient but the results are well worth the wait!

Thanks Nathan and LDT!

Four years ago we purchased an adorable Alaskan Malamute puppy. About six months after that we contacted Lorenzo in desperation, as our now 80# dog would try to viciously attack anyone new who tried to enter our home. Christine and Lorenzo showed us how to take control of our home, and introduce people into our home so our dog would not attack them. Lorenzo made a comment at the time that "you will never need to worry about someone breaking into your house".

Beginning this spring there has been a rash of burglaries in our quiet suburban neighborhood. Someone broke into our next door neighbors home two weeks ago. Even though they had ADT, the burglar was gone with valuable heirloom jewelry by the time the police arrived.

Last week someone removed a screen on a ground floor window in our home. They jimmied the lock and opened the window. While we were not there to witness the encounter, the set of muddy footprints running away from the back window suggests whomever tried to enter had not been properly introduced to our dog.

Many thanks to Christine and Lorenzo for the best home protection system we never intended to purchase!

Nathan has been great!! *We went on vacation for 10 days and left our GSD with him and when we returned, it was like we got a new dog. *He now is the perfect dog that anyone could hope to take on a walk, to the park, local pet store, or even hiking. *Thanks again Lorenzo's Dog Training team!

We were at the point where we were about to put our dog down. We had tried several trainers and classes, but we made very little progress in overcoming our dog's aggression. We heard about Lorenzo's Dog Training Team and decided to give him a try. We brought our dog in for an evaluation with Lorenzo's and he felt that he could help us. We signed up for his classes and had great results.

After four classes and a lot of follow through at home, we have cured a lot of the aggression issues we had with our dog. We continued his training with an additional four classes and were very satisfied. We still need to work hard at reinforcing everything we learned, but we have the aggression issues under control. We now enjoy having our dog as part of our family and he finally knows that he is loved and appreciated. Without the help of Lorenzo's team, we would not have our dog with us today."

"Abby brought home a gorgeous black lab puppy, who quickly grew to 65 pounds with endless energy. Tired of trying to restrain Luah, we came to Lorenzo's. Luah is now under control, well trained on leash, and soon to be trained off leash.

Lorenzo himself is a force of nature! He is a master of his profession. We see his profound influence on the other trainers, who patiently and diligently train dogs and their owners. We are developing the understanding and skills we need to have a dog that is obedient, happy, safe, and calm. This is a professional business and we would recommend Lorenzo's Dog Training Team to any dog owner!"

"There's the anticipation and excitement of getting a new puppy and then there is the reality! We have not had a puppy for over ten years and felt it would be wise to do some planning for the arrival of our new Labrador Retriever. We spoke to two very reliable sources who both recommended Lorenzo's Dog Training Team.

Four days before we picked up our puppy, we went to visit Lorenzo's. We were very impressed with the trainers and the facility. We were greeted warmly and professionally by the trainers. They were patient and spent time with us answering our long list of questions regarding the management of our new arrival. We felt very comfortable with what we saw and heard and knew that we would return.

Little did we know how soon that would be! After five days with our eight week old puppy we realized that we ALL needed training immediately. The very next day we began our first of five basic obedience classes. We were completely amazed that five minutes into the session our trainer had complete control and command of our feisty little pup.

We knew at that moment we had made the right decision. We were given the knowledge and gained the confidence to work positively and progressively toward training and enjoying our new friend. We were so impressed with the measurable progress we all made after each of our sessions. Lorenzos Dog Training Team helped us make order out of chaos. We now have the tools and a good foundation to raise a happy and obedient dog that will be a joy for years to come.

We are looking forward to taking the next level of obedience classes and to a long relationship with Lorenzo's Dog Training Team. We highly recommend the Lorenzo's Dog Training Team experience."

"We have nothing but great things to say about Lorenzo's Dog Training Team. He is calm, knows his training, and the dogs totally respect him. Cali, our Australian shepherd, was very nervous and aggressive towards other dogs and people.

Cali has calmed down, stays put, and doesn't go nuts when we pass other dogs on our walks. She doesn't bark when people or other dogs pass by the front of our house. One thing we really respect about Lorenzo's is how punctual and dependable he is. His control of the dogs in a firm and loving manner is fantastic. We recommend Lorenzo's and the entire Lorenzo Dog Training Team to everyone.

When we came to Emilio it was because our pitbull Patches nipped at one of our grandchildren. We were considering giving him away or putting him down. During our training Emilio taught us how to influence and lead our dog. Now the children play with him as well as other animals and it doesn't faze him at all. It's nice. He has structure and is part of our family. All he needed was our leadership and he's like a different dog. We strongly recommend Emilio to anyone who wants to teach their dog.

  • Who is Lorenzo?

    Lorenzo

Lorenzo Miller, the founder of Lorenzo's Dog Training Team, first went to dog training school in 1977 as a 10 year old child. Young Lorenzo got in the habit of feeding and looking after the neighborhood strays, which led to a special bond. However, Lorenzo was not supposed to have dogs in his house so he began to sneak them inside. To keep his secret pets hidden, he attempted to train them to behave in his room. Thus began Lorenzo's passion for dog training. Lorenzo later attended dog training school and developed his training technique. In his spare time, Lorenzo enjoys playing the piano and is always reading. His busy schedule doesn't always allow for leisure activities, but Lorenzo loves spending time with his family and children.
